Kaliradman

Kaliradman is a combat system from the Philippines and therefore belongs to the category of the Filipino Martial Arts – FMA. The word Kaliradman comes from the Malay the early inhabitants of the Philippines, and is one of the ancient Tagalog names used to describe the art of sword fighting.

In the 16th century the Philippines began their struggle against the Spanish invaders which led to many centuries of fierce resistance for independency and freedom. The Spanish colonials used the term “Escrimia” to name their fencing arts and as a result of the many battles fought between the two parts, “Escrimia” was in some case absorbed and integrated by the Filipinos into their native Martial Arts.Overtime the name Escrima was forged and replaced the ancient names such as Kaliradman. Other common names used to describe the FMA are Arnis or Kali; the term Kali is very popular in the United States and Europe, but is seldom used in the Philippines where in most places it is an unknown word; however, due to its popularity in the western world is increasingly being recognised and accepted in the Filipino archipelago.

Before the arrival of the Spaniards, and before the inhabitants of the Philippines became “Filipinos”, Kaliradman was used for intertribal warfare and at a later stage against the Spanish invaders and then American colonials who were battled with swords, knives, farming tools and sticks.

We practice an ancient system of Kaliradman that can look back on centuries of tradition. If you are already familiar with the FMA world, you will find that our expression of Kaliradman has a unique feel of its own as it was not influenced by the European fencing arts during the Spanish invasion of the Philippines and has kept its techniques intact and blades orientated as they were originally intended to be.

For safety reasons we train with rattan sticks but we always handle the “Baston” with the idea of holding a real sword. Extremely dynamic and versatile Kaliradman concentrates exclusively on practical combat applications. Everything we train has to work in real life and not just in a training setting.

Filipino Boxing

Filipino boxing is the natural evolution of the skills you learn by using the weapons in the Filipino Martial Arts. When you train long enough, the techniques will become part of your muscle memory and in an ideal scenario if you are unarmed and under attack the same moves you would use with a blade (e.g. a knife), becomes alive with your empty hands just by instinctive reaction.

The origin of this Art, due to lack of written documentation is still a mystery, and in most cases the information sources available are based on theories rather than actual facts; however what’s more important is that when put to the test Filipino Boxing really works.

By learning to use your natural tools like: Elbows, Fists, Shoulders, Head Butts, Kicks and Knees; training in this art will turn your whole body into a weapon. In the Philippines is mainly called Mano Mano meaning “hand to hand.” Mano is the Spanish word for hand. In America and Europe” is widely known as “Panantukan” but the meaning of this word is unclear. Another name used in the Philippines is Suntukan meaning “fist fight” which derives from the Filipino Tagalog word “mag suntukan” meaning to fight one another with the fists.

All the names mentioned above, are used to describe the empty hands aspect of the FMA. Leaving all the theories of its origin aside and concentrating on the practical side of things Filipino Boxing is one of the most (if not the most) effective non-sport Martial Arts, especially at close quarter range.

Nudda M.A.X Training

The NUDDA Martial Arts Cross Training system evolves mainly from the boxing phase of the Filipino Martial Arts . It’s an explosive blend of Filipino Boxing, Muay Thai and elements of Grappling; however, it is intended to be a striking Art and therefore our prime goal is to stay standing and not be taken to the ground.

The aim is to develop an explosive and aggressive way of fighting that leaves very little room for counters and retaliation. NUDDA it’s specifically designed for urban orientated situation.

This is a modern combat system that finds its roots in the training methods and attributes based approach of the ancient Filipino and Thai Martial arts but with a cutting edge approach towards the reality of our times. NUDDA M.A.X.TRAINING™ it's extremely functional, effective and explosive, so if reality is what you are after, you don't need to look any further.
